Crazy like a fool

There’s a French saying that goes: “there is no silly job”; It leaves me circumspect.

Meaning that anything that allows one to earn money deserves one’s respect,

With that I strongly agree. Larry Crowne shall have no shame pushing trolleys around

Grey’s Anatomy showed recently that taking care of mice is less stupid than it may sound.

No, my problem is that be it Mrs Doubtfire being a housekeeper,

Or frolein Maria having to take care of seven children and their father,

Larry Daley being night security guard in the museum of natural history

Or even Big Bang theory’s Penny being a waitress at the Cheesecake factory.

Don’t you think these jobs would be a lot more boring without a bit of silliness?

I absolutely need a catchphrase, everybody has one in the US.

"Sot métier" is far more poetic than "silly job", isn't it ?

Le 5 nov. 2011 08:31, "Anne-Catherine's posterous" <post@annecatherine.posterous.com> a écrit :

poetic, sure, but way less fun. "silly" has this little hint of crazy that makes it much more enviable.
